Vancouver Hotels

The following are some accomdation we recommend in the city.

  • Our hotel of choice is the Hampton Inn & Suites. It's about seven blocks southeast of the conference location, in a (relatively speaking) quiet part of downtown. Here's a map
that shows the Hampton and UBC Robson Square where the conference is
being held. I'm told that all rooms have free Internet access, and
there's wifi in the hotel's common areas.

    We've arranged a price
of CAN $115 (plus taxes, includes breakfast) per night, which is great
rate for downtown Vancouver. Just mention the conference name when you
    make your booking.

Update: Julie writes that regular rooms might be full. We'll check into this and perhaps see about getting a deal with a second hotel.

Update: I just booked a room there for $105/CDN a night no problem via the web. That's cheaper!!! Nancy Dec 16 6pm

  • For the budget-minded females (sorry guys), there's a YWCA
just around the corner from the Hampton. It's generally well-spoken of,
and you can't beat CAN $84 for a double room with private bath (less,
if you're willing to share). Here's a map
between the YWCA and UBC Robson Square. The route on that map is lame,
though--just take Beatty down to Robson and go straight up Robson.
